The National Association of Activity Professionals’ Credentialing Center (NAAPCC) was formed in January of 2011 because of many requests from the members of the National Association of Activity Professionals (NAAP). After three years of research and much discussion it was decided to offer a Board Certification. We are organized as an independent body exclusively for the purpose of credentialing Activity Professionals that meet the standards and requirements set forth by the Center. We are the only credentialing body for Activity Professionals that follow the standards set forth by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). We do not educate nor require any specific course or class. All Activity Professionals will need to successfully pass the competency exam to be issued a board certification.
Currently the Board of Directors and Office Manager have a combined 165 years of experience in the geriatric continuum of care. NAAPCC offers an all-encompassing certification to assure an individual is well rounded and prepared to work in any long term care, adult day program, assisted living, in-home program, senior centers or retirement community. Becoming Board Certified demonstrates that the individual has the knowledge and ability to provide high standards within any geriatric setting.
Activity Professionals have the option of Activity Professional Board Certified (AP-BC) or Activity Consultant/Educator Board Certified (AC-BC).
